Welcome to the Earth 2 Version 1 (E2V1) Tech Demo where we showcase various progress we've made on building a 1:1 scale planet Earth that you will be able to explore, build on and more. We also opted to share various ideologies and use cases throughout this tech demo showcase to make it more interesting for the viewer and to help visualise how E2V1 could look depending on choices Players make. Worlds, within a world, with the world. No cinematics or pre-rendered footage. The E2V1 footage showcasing in this video was rendered real-time and in-engine. Please select the highest viewing quality (i.e 4K). We also apologise for the running ads, Earth 2 does not monetise its channel and we are trying to get the number of ads reduced. The Geolocational Metaverse based on a pristine Planet Earth with digital land and ownership from the biggest Virtual Land Registry in the world, corresponding to real world locations. The Metaverse should not feel like a shoebox or a string of shoebox experiences. Our minds are programmed to be expansive, and therefore the Metaverse should feel open, unbounded and liberating. We’re not saying Earth 2 looks better than other games, but it’s special because it’s functioning on such a massive scale; and it’s still very much a Work In Progress. We realise it’s difficult for some to visualise the vision of Earth 2. But pictures can paint a thousand words and we’re sure this footage will help some to better understand our dreams and aspirations. A couple of days ago Earth 2 Founder, Shane Isaac, dropped a random video of him flying an Earth 2 ship over a megacity inside E2V1 on Twitter. Though it was only supposed to be a random thing, it was well received, but the low quality video recording and 'rusty' pilot skills led Shane to ask the OG Pilot inside the Earth 2 team, Ferran Galvan (Lead Technical Artist) to do a quick recording of him in the pilot seat, so he happily obliged and we threw some music on it and this is what we came up with after a couple of hours! We must say not only were there no crashes, but Ferran showed off some pretty impressive flying skills! Instead of Earth 2 simply selling directly to Players, ships like this one will be Player built and owned as by-products of the EcoSim. So to get a ship like this you'll either have to build it yourself via the EcoSim, buy it from another Player or possibly rent it for a joy ride! Earth 2 believes strongly in not only giving Players ownership of their in game digital products, but al the ability to sell and trade them with other Players. Please don’t add or spend any funds you’re not prepared to lose. I do personally own a lot of Earth 2 tiles. However I’ve never withdrawn anything or had any form of payment from Earth 2 themselves. Now if you don’t know what the metaverse is, or is trying to be, then basically think of a big MMO game like World of Warcraft, Roblox or Minecraft. Then add on, augmented reality, virtual reality and a whole load of extra utility like business meetings, live cookings classes, exercise, virtual displays and promotions in real world locations, pretty much anything you can do in the real world and more. The metaverse isn’t just a new game or a fad but it will change how we interact with the world in as much of a way if not more than the internet has. It will be an ever present experience with access not only through smart phones and computers but soon wearable technology too. Now a lot of people seem to view the metaverse as a race with only 1 winner. The first to the finish line takes all kind of thing. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. The best comparison I can give is the internet and websites. Do we have huge players, yes. Tons of them, then medium and smaller players too. All offering different services and experiences to suit all of our needs. The metaverse will be much the same, good projects will thrive, weak ones will fail, we will see large new companies emerge and even witness some existing giants fail in the space. But it couldn’t be further from a winner takes all kind of environment. So, what exactly is Earth 2 and what sets it apart from other metaverse projects.
